MISSION STATEMENT

  Our goal is to use role-playing games to promote a sense of belonging and community while encouraging critical thinking, developing communication skills, promoting team work, and respecting others. We commit to providing a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for personal and social development for participants of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

  While fun and entertainment are a large part of the intended experience from us, we consider it imperative that we also emphasize team-building, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that can be applied to day-to-day life. In addition to this, our ESL sessions insert a focus on proper conversational English. Big Pear also understands the need for youth to have appropriate, safe, and supervised activities that also provide enrichment and growth. It is our intention to help fill that role in our community.

  Big Pear relies on solid planning and follow-through. Our vision and strategy are translated into actionable plans executed by skilled staff and volunteers. All our programs follow a mixture of custom-developed and tried-and-tested curriculum and are run by accomplished facilitators and educators. 

  

  We maintain competitive program costs and offer a sliding scale for participants in need.
